Latest New treatment at SIOS

For patients who have struggled to lose sufficient weight, or have regained weight after Bariatric surgery, there are exciting new medical and endoscopic treatments available. For patients needing to get back on track after weight-loss surgery, new medical therapies allow 2/3 of patients to lose at least 5% of their weight, while up to 1/3 of patient’s will lose 10% or more weight. This could be perfect for patients who otherwise may be looking at further surgery as an option to try to improve their health and medical problems. Please make an appointment to discuss this option to see if you are suitable, or search “Saxenda” in your internet browser if you want further information prior to your appointment.

Patients who have regained weight after laparoscopic gastric bypass can also ask if they are eligible for endoscopic reduction of their gastric pouch and “stoma” (the join between their stomach and small bowel). The Apollo Overstitch is now available in Australia, and we are happy to offer it to patients with weight regain. Please call to make an appointment on 9716 3522 if you feel you have gone off track with your weight and feel that you would like a little help.
